Letter postmarked 2/1/03
Mark,
I just finished
looking at your website. Very interesting. You have been around a long
time. I am the commodore of the South Side Ice Yacht Club in Oshkosh,
Wisconsin. We have been in existence since 1937. We have a clubhouse on
Lake Winnebago. We have a limited membership of 50.
Sailing has
been great this year. We have had about 5 weeks of good ice and no snow.
We do have some open water about a mile out from our clubhouse, but we
just stay away from it. That is until last weekend. The steering broke on
my Nite and it was headed straight for the open water. I could not steer
it or stop it so as I got closer to the open water I had to bail out. The
boat went in but not me. I had a company come and get it out, so I should
have it dried out and ready to go in a week or so. It was sitting in about
15' of water.
I am sending
you a couple of our club decals. You can put them in your clubhouse if
you'd like.
Well if I ever get to NJ I will stop
and see your place.
